The Lake

The lake Drawing on paper by Jill Ostergren

One of those times where I was sitting and just could not stop. I find that the moment in my inner mind presented this scene for me.
It is a rare picture of when I finish a drawing, usually it is when I start a painting that I use these sketches as research.

Thank you once again for stopping by and have a great day!

Wonderful Country

Wonderful country mixed media on canvas by Jill Ostergren

I just love the flow and colors, it maybe a bad resolution but still, it is a challenge to see the beginning of my art career. Its a humble experience and yet at the same time it is a quest!
A quest for finding my voice, my feelings in colors. Finding the right brush strokes.

One of my many Inspirations MR Turner

One Of MY true Inspirations . Its true that I am very influenced by this period but still. The emotional content of the flow of colors and the harmony of the composition is truly great!

Midnight Winter

Midnight winter a study with oil on paper!
In 2015 a lot of painting was finished and this is one of them.
Landscape paintings has been a passion of mine and I find that in oil, it is a classic motive for me.
My artistic journey, is a study, a emotional journey to express the intensity of nature.
One of my fascination is the night and painting night scenery.

Blue Nature

Blue Nature, a blue calling from Nature. Mixed Media painted on Multimedia Paper.
Once again in my blue period I found the natural flow of my media. I found that during my break from my art school a moment of Zen was within me.
I found the turnout interesting and almost alien like.

Blue Wings

Blue wings.  A mixed media painted on Multi media paper.
A time when I felt that I need to try and find inspiration from within and eager to express myself.
I feel that the blue phases that i get, is of course a inspiration from a era of Picasso, but still it felt like a nice flow.
As a artist in my journey , I found that finding my space, finding my voice within and finding a channel to speak with colors.

Please enjoy!

Blacky A crows presence

Blacky a study of crows. Pastels on multi media paper.
In a period of taking a break from art school ,I found myself fascinated over the amount of crows flying around the complex that I was living in. Here in Toronto, I don't get much a chance to hear the crows, only outside downtown, there would be a opportunity to admire them.
The impressions of wings and the spirit of the calls had me hit my drawing pad and I love the result.

Cubism dreams Black cubes

\\

This is a drawing that I made in 2015. Pastel on multimedia paper. This was made with a intention of following my inspiration of the movement of cubism.
Some of the cubism from Picasso are truely inspirational for me. In my 20's I was very ignorant and had no clue about Art History. I followed the main stream of Dali, Picasso, Da Vinci, Monet. All the mayor painters that inspired generations, had inspired me as well.
I needed a break from my art classes. I needed a moment  of flow that could give me inspiration.
I just let the lines speak to me and this is the final result
